The Mobility Lab at the University of Salzburg is pleased to announce the publication of its latest working paper, summarising the outcomes of the interactive workshop held during the 16th Austrian Cycling Summit in Saalfelden.

Organised by the Mobility Lab, the workshop brought together 27 experts from various disciplines to explore the role of digital data in cycling planning and promotion. Using a World Café format, participants discussed current practices, future potentials, and challenges in data governance.

The newly released paper highlights key findings: while existing data sources such as GIP, OSM, GPS trajectories and counting stations are already in use, their integration and accessibility remain limited. Experts emphasised the need for comprehensive movement data, interoperable standards, and user-friendly planning tools.
