The project Bikealyze targets a major deficit in active mobility research and promotion. Thus, the project seeks to acquire knowledge about bicyclist’s real movement in space and their usage of infrastructure.
The suitability of various sensors for naturalistic cycling has been assessed successfully. Furthermore, algorithms for the synchronization and harmonization of all sensor data have been developed. The Graph Integration Platform (GIP) has been evaluated concerning its suitability as a reference for high-precision measuring. Additionally suggestions for further improvements of the GIP have been formulated. Based on the project results, recommendations for further naturalistic cycling studies can be derived.
