We were privileged to serve as hosts for the City of Salzburg’s „Scientists in Residence“ for the first time in September. It was a great pleasure to welcome Prof. Jed Long from Western University in London, Ontario (Canada) to our Mobility Lab. Jed is currently on a sabbatical year and successfully applied for one of the prestigious SIR scholarships.

Jed started his stay with us with a very well attended colloquium talk on the morphology of GPS tracks: “Understanding patterns of individual mobility using spatial graphs”. In the days that followed, we discussed various research ideas, exchanged information on current projects and explored opportunities for further collaboration.
As the weather was unusually warm for the time of the year, there was plenty of time for active leisure activities in and around Salzburg.
