Between May 3rd and June 3rd 2019, we conducted an extensive online survey on cycling mobility for our current research project Bicycle Observatory. Over 1,000 persons provided us with insights in their mobility behaviour. Thanks to our sponsors, we were able to award two attractive main prizes to the winners of our raffle.

On July 11th, the winners of the cycling clothes and the bike weekend were invited by the research team and the sponsors (IKO and SLT) to the iDEAS:lab in Salzburg-Itzling. Under the auspices of the city councilor, Martina Berthold, and two experts from the city’s cycling planning team, the prizes were handed over to Ricarda G. and Franz H.

Martina Berthold underlined the city’s ambitions to put the cycling strategy consequently into practice, while considering latest research results. Franz Pöltzleitner pointed to the importance of cycling tourism for Salzburg’s tourism industry and Thomas Gassner, COO at IKO, highlighted the positive effects of a increasing cycling share for the sports retail sector.
